Don’t miss this performance by the amazing jazz quartet comprised of students from the University of North Florida! Long celebrated for their outstanding jazz studies program, UNF music students continue to impress their listeners with beautiful, creative performances.
Evan Anderson, is a senior majoring in Jazz Studies at UNF who began teaching himself the piano at age 15. His honors include winning an East Florida Jazz Association scholarship as well as the Jacksonville Jazz Society Scholarship. He has performed on multiple studio albums; many of his compositions have been recorded and performed. He plans to continue his studies in New York as well as continuing to write and perform music.
Tyler Snell, a senior Jazz Studies major at UNF, was born in the United Kingdom, raised in Kissimmee and hopes to teach saxophone to serious musicians one day. He was a semi-finalist in the North American Saxophone Alliance Jazz Competition, received the “Jeep” McCoy Memorial Scholarship and won the Jacksonville Jazz Society scholarship.
Justin Archinihu, a young and rising jazz bassist, is Las enrolled at UNF. He was introduced to jazz by a friend and during the Covid siege, he devoted most of his time to developing his craft. He auditioned and was accepted for UNF’s school of music and continues to play with musicians in Jacksonville including Ulysses Owens, Jr., John Lumpkin, Eric Bailey, David Champagne, Stephan Klein, Jonah Pierre and Al Manicalco.
Ethan Grussgott, drummer, is completing his bachelor’s degree at UNF under the great Danny Gottlieb. He performs with many groups throughout Florida and Georgia as well as teaching upcoming drummers in his private studio. He is planning to pursue a master’s degree in music at the University of Northern Colorado this fall
