Chamber Music Series: the 9B Quartet

The 9B Woodwind Quartet was founded in 2020 by Jeff Ackerman with the goal of preserving and performing woodwind chamber music of all genres and musical eras. 9B is composed of four musicians from the North Florida area who have diverse musical experiences and backgrounds. They perform many community concerts throughout the year in venues in the Jacksonville and St. Augustine area and are all members of the St. Augustine Orchestra.
Jeff Ackerman, the oboist of the 9B quartet is the Fine Arts Department Chair, Band, Guitar and Piano instructor for Westside High School in Jacksonville. He also performs with the St. Augustine Orchestra dn the First Coast Pops Orchestra.
Lee Sellers, flutist, has served as a secondary school band director in Orange County Florida, Austin, Texas and most recently in Saint Johns County. He has performed with the Florida Flute Orchestra in Orlando, the Trade Winds Quintet, Hollingsworth Winds and the First Coast Flute Choir in Jacksonville.
Robbie Zukauskas, a multi-instrumentalist, plays the bassoon in the quartet. She studied music at the University of Central Florida and has played in several military bands as well as currently playing in area musical ensembles.
Lynn Jason, clarinet, earned a bachelor’s degree in music from the University of South Mississippi and a masters degree in Library Science from the University of North Carolina. She also plays with the First Coast Pops Orchestra.
